Undated, circa 1857, several lines of family names first dated 1857. A rare and beautiful large and heavy bible (12inches high x 9 1/2 inches wide x 3 inches depth), detailed gilt and leather bound designed front and back covers with detailed brass edging together with two brass closing clasps. Leather rubbed around spine edges with light creasing to spine leather, also small rubbed patch to back cover. Front edge of top spine has 3 inch split to leather. Gilted page edges. Brown spotting due to age, mainly to first few pages, protective tissue papers and some page borders. The Life of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ - Together with evidences of the Christian Religion and the lives of the Evangelists Apostles and Chief Disciples with numerous illustrative notes. 874 pages with some wonderful full page illustrations.
